The Jr. & Sr. High Youth from Beitel and Prince of Peace Lutheran Churches met at Pastor Ron’s family ranch near
Boerne, Texas for a day retreat to get to know Vicar Taylor. Vicar Taylor will be leading the joint Youth Groups while he
is serving the two congregations.
The youth began their day indoors with morning worship, getting acquainted and discussing the question, “Are You
Cool?”. By the morning break the skies were starting to clear so they moved outdoors for further discussion. Just
before lunch they demonstrated their understanding of what it means to be cool by putting on small group skits and
participated in the midday prayer.
The afternoon cleared off and the day was beautiful for the outdoor worship and activities. They scavenged for
deadwood and built a cross. An afternoon worship service was held on a beautiful clearing after which they played
Frisbee Golf. The closing worship included time for personal reflection and replacing the cross with a live tree.
