Ronald A. Windecker was born in Lockney, Texas. He is the second of two children and is the only son of Pastor
Arnold and Geraldine Windecker. When Ron was seven, his father accepted the call to serve as pastor of St. Paul
Lutheran Church in Mason, Texas, where they remained until Ron's junior year in high school. From Mason the
family moved to Canyon Lake, Texas, and Ron finished his high school career in 1975 as a graduate of Canyon
High School in New Braunfels. Ron chose to attend Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, from which he graduated in
1979. While at TLC Ron met Deborah Tewes of Stockdale, Texas, and they were married in the Chapel of the
Abiding Presence on campus in August 1979.

From early childhood he had felt the call to serve God in the ordained ministry, so in September Ron and Deborah
headed for Dubuque, Iowa, to Wartburg Theological Seminary. He received his first year of training there, and then
moved to Columbus, Ohio, to attend Trinity Lutheran Seminary for the second year. The third year of seminary is
spent on internship, and Ron and Deborah were sent to Miller's Lutheran Church in Hickory, North Carolina, for his
graduate work, received his Masters of Divinity, and was assigned to what is now the Southwestern Texas Synod of
the ELCA.

While awaiting a call, Ron and Deborah moved to Columbus, Texas, and Ron served as Youth Director at St. Paul
Lutheran Church. In September 1984 Ron was ordained at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason where he had spent
most of his growing-up years. This ordination gave him the special honor of becoming a fourth-generation minister
on his father's side of the family. His love of serving God led Ron to accept a call to Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Comfort, Texas, in October and spent the next eight and one-half years there. In July 1993 Ron accepted the call
to Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas, where he serves presently.

The Windeckers have two sons, Kevin and Kody. Kevin is currently in college and Kody attends Middle School.

Wife/Mother Deborah, who holds a Secondary Education Degree in Math and Certification at the Elementary level,
taught her first year after college, and then worked for the Railroad Commission in Austin before marrying. After
Kevin and Kody came along, and being committed to family, Deborah was content to work outside the home only
part-time, and then totally as a stay-at-home mom. When Kody started Kindergarten, Deborah returned to
education and began working. She currently teaches 5th grade.
